Call for comment on Public Procurement Bill

INVITATION TO SUBMIT WRITTEN COMMENTS AND REQUEST ORAL COMMENTS ON THE PUBLIC PROCUREMENT BILL [B 18B - 2023]

The Western Cape Provincial Parliament’s Standing Committee on Finance, Economic Opportunities and Tourism (the Committee) hereby invites you to submit written and oral submissions on the Public Procurement Bill [B 18B–2023].
The purpose of the Bill is to regulate public procurement; to prescribe a framework within which preferential procurement must be implemented; and to provide for matters connected therewith.

The public hearings are arranged as follows:

  • 4 March 2024 (17:00 - 19:00) - George Town Hall, York Street, George Central, George
  • 5 March 2024 (17:00 - 19:00) - Chamber (sixth floor), Provincial Legislature Building, 7 Wale Street, Cape Town
  • 6 March 2024 (17:00 - 19:00) - Dial Rock Community Hall, Parkersdorp, Saldanha Bay

Interested persons and organisations are invited to submit written or oral comments on the Bills via email (zadams@wcpp.gov.za) or WhatsApp voice notes and messages (Cell number: 072 993 4631).

Please include your full name and email address and/or contact number, when submitting comments to the Committee. Submissions must be addressed to the Procedural Officer, Ms Zaheedah Adams. Requests to make verbal presentations at the public hearings must be submitted to the Procedural Officer at least one day before the scheduled public hearing. If you are attending the public hearing at the Cape Town venue, please bring along proof of identification. The deadline for written submissions is 17:00 on Friday 8 March 2024.
