A new publication has just been released by the Water Research Commission (WRC) in South Africa. The book, Water Resilient Cities, looks at the steps that cities and settlements in South Africa and around the globe have already taken to become more water resilient in the face of climate and population challenges.
The discussions at this forum will focus on major waste issues currently facing the Western Cape and analyse some of the methods which have been proposed to eradicate these challenges. Industry experts will present on topics related to single use plastics, waste characterisation, circular economy and the socio-economic benefits of PET recycling in South Africa. We will also review the impacts of plastic pollution and unpack an amazing community waste collection programme which is underway.
