The period for commenting and providing input to the Department of Environment, Forestry, and Fisheries (DEFF) closes on 30 November 2020
Overview on the process to date
The National Department of Environment, Forestry, and Fisheries (DEFF) has finalized the study on National Employment Vulnerability Assessments (NEVA) and Sector Jobs Resilience Plans (SJRPs) for five key value chains namely; Coal Value Chain; Metals Value Chain; Petroleum-Based Transport Value Chain; Tourism Value Chain and Agriculture Value Chain.

The aforementioned SJRPs Value Chains were presented to the Inter-governmental Committee on Climate Change (IGCCC) on the 09th of July 2020. It is against this background that the Department would like to engage key stakeholders as yourselves, as part of the consultation process, on the aforementioned work; and to also present and discuss programs that are being planned to support the just transition (SJRPs).
The period for commenting and providing input to DEFF on both the Sector Jobs Resilience Plans and the Framework for Sector Emission Targets closes on 30 November 2020. Comments can be emailed to:
