Wallacedene Public Transport Facility
Our organisation commits to earn a 4 Star rating for the Wallacedene green Taxi Rank. The City of Cape Town’s transport authority Transport for Cape Town (TCT) further commits to ensuring the building only uses 5% of the energy requirement from fossil fuels and that 12 000 litres of water used is from recycled water, rooftop capture and storage. Because the City of Cape Town has set itself a target of sourcing 10% of its electricity from renewable energy resources by 2020, we also aim to begin developing the ability to export the surplus energy as part of the small-scale embedded generation initiatives.
