In addition, the norms and standards will assist in setting clear guidelines on how these services are to be provided.

N&S	2013	Health Standards/Norms for Residential Facilities for Older Persons	Provincial	Transversal	The purpose of this document is to clarify the intent of norms and standards for the Residential Facility for older persons as specified part 2 of the annexure to the older persons Act 2006,(Act No 13, 2006) as publish in the gazzette 1April 2010,( N0 33075) It also addresses the health aspect of physically and psycho-social care and residents to ensure clarity during auditing process.
N&S	2012	Norms and Standards For Service to Families	National	Transversal	The purpose of this document is to clarify the intent of norms and standards for the Residential Facility for older persons as specified part 2 of the annexure to the older persons Act 2006,(Act No 13, 2006) as publish in the gazzette 1April 2010,( N0 33075) It also addresses the health aspect of physically and psycho-social care and residents to ensure clarity during auditing process.
N&S	2013	Generic Norms and Standards for Social Welfare Services	Provincial	DSD Specific	The purpose of this document is to guide the delivery of integrated quality service to identified beneficiaries. These norms and standards were developed after an intense process of consultation with all partners in the delivery of social welfare services. This process ensured that the partners will take ownership of the document based on the contribution made and the willingness to facilitate its implementation at all levels of service delivery − national, provincial, district and local. These norms and standards are generic to all service providers at these levels and are applicable to all social welfare programmes.
N&S	2011	Generic Norms and Standards for Social Welfare Services (2011)	National	Transversal	The purpose of these norms and standards is to provide a set of criteria against which the quality of social welfare services can be measured. The norms and standards framework describes the fundamental aspects of quality in social welfare services and therefore includes the responsibilities of the various role players on national, provincial and local level.
N&S	2010	Blue print, Minimum Norms and Standards for Secure Care Facilities in South Africa (2010)	National	DSD Specific	The purpose of these norms and standards is to ensure the best interest of children during correction, rehabilitation and reintegration into the family and community, as provided for in the Constitution and other pieces of legislation. Furthermore it is to provide standardized and uniform services for children in conflict with the law in secure care facilities.
N&S	2008	Minimum Standards for Service Delivery in Victim Empowerment (Victims of Crime and Violence) (2008)	National	Transversal	The purpose of this document is to develop a set of uniform standards for service delivery in victim empowerment to ensure that services are rendered in a specific, planned and effective manner.
N&S	2008	Minimum Standards on services for Victims of Crime (2008)	National	Transversal	Developed in conjunction with the Service Charter for Victims of Crime in South Africa, the Minimum standards on services for Victims of Crime are developed to educate the public on their rights when they receive assistance and the procedures related to the justice system for victims of crime.
N&S	2001	Charter for the Public Service in Africa	National	Transversal	This Charter is a guide for the public services in Africa for legislative, regulatory, technical, and practical measures as may be required to create favourable conditions for the proper functioning of the public service and improve the quality of its services. It states and defines the principles and rules of conduct for public service and state employees, who are to foster a neutral and stable environment conducive to the strengthening of ethical values and the image of the public service, as well as the professionalism of its employees.
N&S	2001	Minimum Standards on Shelters for Abused Women, 2001	National	DSD Specific	This document describes the minimum standards set out by the Department for the operation and management of levels of shelters for abused, battered and destitute women.
N&S	Undated	Minimum Norms and Standards for Out-patient Treatment Centres	National	Transversal	The purpose of these norms and standards is to establish a set of minimum standards for the control, guidance and monitoring of out- patient substance abuse treatment centres in South Africa.
N&S	Undated	Minimum Standards for Service Delivery in Victim Empowerment (Victims of Crime and Violence)	National	DSD Specific	The purpose of this policy is to establish a set of "bottom line" goals for service delivery in Victim Empowerment
