SOP 2020 Western Cape Department of Social Development Standard Operating Procedure for the Collection, Collation, Verification and Subsidy Performance Information, October 2020 Provincial DSD Specific This document is part of a standardised system of managing programme performance information in the Department. The processes described in this document apply to the quarterly and annual reporting of subsidy indicators, where the data collected for subsidies paid to NPOs are verified utilising the Basic Accounting System.
SOP 2019 Standard Operating Procedure for the Western Cape Department of Social Development’s Participation in Child Death Review Panels, 2019 Provincial DSD Specific The purpose of this SOP is to:
- Set out uniform guidelines for the Department of Social Development to participate in mortuary-based child death review panels in the Western Cape.
- Strengthen child protection responses in cases of fatal child abuse and deliberate neglect to ensure the safety of the remaining, and
- Ensure standardized reporting to the child death review panel when form 22 referrals are received or cases are referred for prevention and early intervention services.
SOP 2019 Western Cape Department of Social Development Standard Operating Procedure for Canalisation Services, February 2019 Provincial DSD Specific The purpose of this SOP is to provide regional directors and their child protection personnel with guidelines and procedures for the application of canalisation of services. This SOP is applicable to all canalisation officers in the regional and local offices, as well and the Directorate: Facility Management.
SOP 2019 Western Cape Department of Social Development Standard Operating Procedure for the reporting and management of serious injury, abuse and death of children in registered and unregistered partial care facilities in the Western Cape, 2019 Provincial DSD Specific The purpose of this SOP is to outline procedures to be followed when any serious injury or abuse of a child occurs within a partial care setting.

SOP 2018 Protocol on the Uniform Integrated Multi-Agency Referral Pathway for Child Protection in the Western Cape Provincial Transversal The purpose of this protocol are to:
• Prescribe uniform guideline for the primary point of contact to report and refer cases of child abuse, deliberate neglect and a child who is in need of care and protection.
• Clarify he roles and responsibilities of all relevant parties for both referrals of matters and service delivery. This protocol should apply in its entirety to all relevant role-players in the Western Cape who work with children and their families- and includes government and civil society.
SOP 2018 Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for Commissioning and Conducting Social and Evaluation Research within the Department of Social Development Provincial DSD Specific The purpose of this SOP is to provide for a standardized step-by-step guide on the process to follow when commissioning and conducting evaluation research within the department. It describes the key roles, responsibilities and actions of officials in the evaluation process.
SOP 2018 Standard Operating Procedure for the Registrations of Partial Care Facilities for Children with Disabilities Provincial DSD Specific

The purpose of this SOP is:

-To guide and support the registration process of partial care facilities for children with disabilities (who require high level of support; children who function at the lowest levels of their development).

-To ensure standardization and uniformity across the execution of the registration process.

 -To provide support and guidance to service providers on legislative requirements/ requirements regarding the registration of partial care facilities for children with disabilities.

-To guide compliance with prescribed national norms and standards for partial care facilities.

 -To give effect to the legislative mandate of Chapter 5 of the Children’s Act, Act 38 of 2005.

-To promote compliance with other legislative prescripts: Mental Health Care Act, Act 17 of 2002 and Chapter 9 of General Regulations.

-To ensure adherence to the Department of Education Learning Programme for Children with Severe to Profound Intellectual Disability or a similar programme approved by the DBE provides guiding support and educational stimulation programmes.
SOP 2017 Performance Information Reporting Standard Operating Procedure Provincial DSD Specific The processes described in this document apply to in-year and annual reporting of performance information in line with the indicators and targets defined in the Annual Performance Plan (APP).

SOP 2017 Circular on Centralised Admissions 2017 Provincial DSD Specific The purpose of the procedure for centralized admissions at Child and Youth Care Centres in the Western Cape, guides the application and placement-process of children, referred to Child and Youth Care Centres, via the Children’s Act, Act 38 of 2005 as well as the Child Justice Act, Act 75 of 2008. The procedure covers amongst others emergency placements, transfers and applications for the movement of children from less restrictive to more restrictive residential care.

SOP 2016 Standard Operating Procedure for walk in clients at DSD Head Office Provincial DSD Specific The purpose of this Standard Operating procedure is to received clients by Customer Care(CCA) who assesses the enquiries and enters the client's name, nature of enquiry and  where required, contact detail of the client into the complaints or enquiry managers system. Where the CCA is not on duty, the calls must be put through to the Head Office Customer Care ASD or DD who will then deal with issue as indicated.
