On Tuesday, 7 November 2023, a train and truck were involved in a crash at the Rosenhof Railway crossing in Moorreesburg. A stop-and-go traffic management system was in place for the last two days. Today, Friday 10 November 2023, Transnet and law enforcement teams will clear the crash site by moving the locomotive and truck. The operation will force a total closure of the Moorreesburg entrance on the N7 highway, closest to Piketberg between 9:00 and 12:00 today. Road users who must travel through Moorreesburg via Hopefied, direction Malmesbury and direction Piketberg, are encouraged to use the entrance closest to the Riebeek turn off. We do apologize for the inconvenience.

Law Enforcement, Fire and Rescue Services and the engineering team of Transnet are on site, and we urge the public to please stay clear of the operation. All operations are being coordinated from the West Coast Disaster Management Centre in Moorreesbrug.

A full update will be done at 13:00 today.
