Media Alert: EMS' Frantic Search for Canadian Tourist Continues

The Western Cape Government Health's Emergency Medical Services was called out to search for a missing tourist in the Cederberg mountain range.

On Monday, 22 April, the WCG EMS was informed that a 60 year old Canadian man went hiking up a trail in the Cederberg Mountain range from the Nuwerust Farm in Cederberg, midday on Sunday, 21 April, 2013. When he did not return by 18:00, the farm owner sent two workers and a volunteer from Clanwilliam to search for the missing man.
 
At 07:50 on Monday morning, EMS was contacted to assist with the search. The WCG Health EMS/AMS rescue helicopter team performed a two hour aerial search over the mountain range searching for the tourist earlier today and a team of five WCG Health: EMS rescuers were deployed and are currently searching in the mountain range.
