Examiner for Driving Licence training achievements
During the first six months of 2018, Gene Louw Traffic College trained a total of 27 students in two groups for the Examiner for Driving Licences (EDL) qualification. A third group is currently undergoing training.
The first group consisted of 14 students, ten men and four women. Four trainees were from Western Cape Provincial Traffic Services (PTS), one from George Municipality, one from Breede Valley Municipality, and eight from the City of Cape Town. Eight men and three women graduated from this group.
The second group consisted of 13 students, nine men and four women. Three were from Kai Garib Municipality, three from PTS, four from the City of Cape Town, one from the Breede Valley Municipality, and two from Overstrand Municipality. Eight men and four women graduated. This group was the first to receive the new unit standard-based training in which the final examination (summative evaluation) for Grade F and L were combined.
The Top Achiever Overall in the first group was CE Abrahams, and the top Practical Achiever was NH Hobe, both from PTS. Some of the students graduated cum laude.
The Top Achiever Overall in the second group was MUG Theunissen from PTS and Top Practical Achiever was HE Jakobs from Overstrand Municipality.
The success of this group is directly due to the commitment and professionalism of the head of the component Denzil Belelie and his group of facilitators: Kavin Pheiffer, Castarus Vermeulen, Melissa Langenhoven, and Nomfusi Zibi.
