The Western Cape Education Department (WCED) calls on school communities to nominate Principals for the After School Leadership Excellence Award.
Excellence in After School Programming relies on strong leadership and school buy-in. Principals who demonstrate passion and innovation in motivating their school team to provide creative, dynamic and interesting After School Programming to their learners may be nominated for this prestigious award.
A successful After School Programming timetable spans a number of possible activities ranging from Sport and Recreation, Arts and Culture, Academic Support and Life Skills.
While nominated schools may provide their own activities, a principal may have also shown leadership in crowding in support from other government departments, NGOs and/or religious organisations which contribute to their school offering. We are excited to learn more about what principals are doing in their schools to create an enabling environment for safe and engaging
After School Programming.
