APPLICATIONS CLOSED! This is a one-year part-time programme for in-service After School Practitioners that supports them to deliver quality arts engagements to children and young people, with a focus on theatre/drama and dance. The programme is intended to provide skills development, mentoring support and showcasing opportunities for Arts Coaches.

Early on in the work of the After School Game Changer (AS GC), we acknowledged that the quality of after school programmes in the province was about as good as the quality of the practitioners who provide the service. As such, in recognising the central role of those on the frontline, the AS GC team focused its attention on supporting the growth of practitioners’ capacity and on helping to build systems to ensure that they will have the right support to excel.

The Leading Innovative Partnerships in Extended Education course, hosted by the Bertha Centre for Social Innovation and Entrpreneurship, will run over four consecutive Saturdays in February and March 2018, for committed individuals working in the educational space, with two additional sessions in the course of the year.

APPLICATIONS CLOSED 16TH OCTOBER 2017 The Western Cape Government is working in partnership with Community Chest, Stellenbosch University and Rutgers University to offer an After School Practitioners training programme. This 18-month course will work to equip After School Practitioners in providing quality ASP and to provide a pipeline for careers in the extended education sector.
