Media Alert: Invitation to Safer Western Cape Conference and Media Briefings
Media are invited to attend the Safer Western Cape conference at The River Club in Cape Town on Tuesday 13th and Wednesday 14th November 2018. The conference is hosted by the Premier of the Western Cape, Helen Zille, and the Department of Community Safety (DoCS).
Western Cape Minister for Community Safety Alan Winde will brief media at 08h00 on Tuesday 13th and again after the conference at 16h30 on Wednesday 14th Nov. These briefings will take place in the Limpopo Room at the River Club.
The Zaire room has been set up as a media room between the two main conference rooms. It is a safe place for media to store equipment, with wireless internet and refreshments available.

The Safer Western Cape conference brings together crime, safety and governance experts to identify innovative and practical ways to build a safer and more prosperous province. It will focus on collaboration between government, business and communities; evidence-based policy development and best practice interventions.
Issues to be addressed by local and international speakers will include violence prevention, gender-based violence, professional policing, gang violence, alcohol & drugs, environmental crime, commuter safety and rural safety.
There will be an opportunity for interviews and photographs.
