Media Alert: Announcement of Youth Plans During Winter School Holidays

Tomorrow, 26 June 2014, Minister of Social Development, Albert Fritz, Minister of Community Safety, Dan Plato, Minister of Education, Debbie Schafer, as well as Minister of Cultural Affairs and Sport, Nomafrench Mbombo, will announce the Western Cape Government’s plans to provide positive and safe alternatives for our youth during the June/July school holidays, which commence on Friday 27 June 2014.

The Western Cape Government is committed to providing opportunities for the youth of our province throughout the year, not only during Youth Month. The announcement of the transversal youth interventions aims to positively engage, entertain and safeguard our youth during school holidays when they are at greater risk for exposure to substance abuse, drugs, violence and gangsterism.
