Basic health services offered in Hout Bay

7 October 2019

Basic health services are available again from today at the Hout Bay Community Day Centre, following closures due to protests in the community.

These services include collection of chronic medication for known and stable patients, screening for TB and HIV, checking of blood pressure and sugar, triaging and basic wound dressings. Basic services are also available from the Hangberg Community Hall and Iziko Lobomo Community Hall in Izamo Yethu. A shuttle service to Lady Michaelis Community Day Centre will be in operation for clients who cannot be assisted on site and require further medical care.

A helpdesk function is available at Hout Bay CDC to assist patients in accessing the specific health service they require. For any enquiries we urge patients to contact the helpdesk on 021 790 1050.

Western Cape Government Health thanks the community of Hout Bay for their patience during this time. We want to assure our patients that we are trying everything in our power to ensure all patients can access basic health care services.
