117 young people to graduate from Youth Skills Transfer Programme

Western Cape Social Development Minister, Adv. Albert Fritz, will address the final Youth Skills Transfer Programme (YSTP) graduation ceremony of 117 youth participants from all over the Cape Metros.

The YSTP is an initiative of the Department of Social Development (DSD) in partnership with the Community Chest and Cape Nature. It has already seen the first five groups of 246 youth from across the province graduate. The current class of1171 are from the areas of Metro East (Blackheath, Eersteriver, Khayelitsha), Metro North (Atlantis, Blikkiesdorp, Delft, Langa, Elsies River) and Metro South (Athlone, grassy Park, Gugulethu, Retreat, Wynberg).

The YSTP offers a customized package of skills development workshops for youth who are not educated, employed, skilled or trained, and is set to benefit 363 young people.

There will be opportunities for interviews and photographs.
