On Tuesday, 7 July 2015, Anroux Marais, Minister of Cultural Affairs and Sport, will be launching an isiXhosa chess terminology book which will be the first of its kind in the country.
The book was a joint project between author Watu Kobese and the Department of Cultural Affairs and Sport. New terminology was developed and verified by the Western Cape Provincial Language Forum in order for the translation of the chess terms to become standardised.
The book will be launched as part of the SA Chess Open, which is currently underway in Cape Town.
