The Department of Transport and Public Works delivered a new High Care and Admission Unit at Valkenberg Hospital to the Department of Health. The department invested more than R12 million in the project. The project is unique in its emphasis on safety for patients and staff members occupying the facility and this played a very important role in the design and development of the building. Historically facilities like this were built like prisons, but this High Care Unit does not have a single burglar bar. Rather, a very homely and tranquil atmosphere was created by the professional team. | Officially in use!
