Ms Dipuo Peters, Minister of Transport and Ms Sindisiwe Chikunga, Deputy Minister of Transport will host the second annual National Road Safety Summit at the Bridgeways Centre, Ratanga Junction in Cape Town from 13 to 14 November 2015.
To be held under the theme: “Save lives and move South Africa Forward,” the Summit is to deliberate on progress being made and the challenges being encountered regarding road safety in the country in line with the resolutions of the first National Road Safety Summit which was held in 2013.
The Summit will also assess the impact of programmes implemented in the country in line with commitments to the United Nations Decade of Action for Road Safety 2011-2020 campaign.
The Minister and Deputy Minister will be joined by provincial MECs for Public Works, Roads and Transport and Community Safety and Liaison, CEOs of Transport State Owned Entities, civil society, business groups, law enforcement agencies and public transport organisations.
