Periodic maintenance is being undertaken on the R46 between Malmesbury and Hermon from March to November 2019. Half-width construction will take place on this road with stop/ go closures. There will be a maximum of three closures, and motorists can expect to have to wait for up to 20 minutes at each closure.

During peak traffic periods, heavy vehicles on the steep grades of the Bothmaskloof Pass near Riebeek Kasteel may cause longer waiting times.

Shoulder closures will be put in place in areas where drainage infrastructure is being maintained and repaired, but these closures will have a limited impact on the travelling public.

The public is requested to be patient, to adhere to speed limits, and obey all road signs. This signage has been put in place to ensure the safety of road users and construction workers.

The contractor’s contact person is Edwin Geldenhuys, tel. 082 748 2115.
