Tomorrow, Wednesday 27 September 2017, the Western Cape Human Settlements Minister, Bonginkosi Madikizela, together with the Executive Mayor of the Witzenberg Municipality, Mr Barnito Klaasen, will hand over 250 title deeds to beneficiaries residing in Op Die Berg, a rural town in the Cape Winelands District.
Among the 250 recipients who will receive their title deeds are 20 elderly residents ranging between 60 and 83 years old.
These beneficiaries have been residing in Op Die Berg Housing Project, an Integrated Residential Development Programme (IRDP), since 2014 and are those who were on the municipal housing demand database; including backyard dwellers as well as farmworkers from surrounding farms.
The handover forms part of the Department’s strategic goals to prioritise vulnerable residents for government housing opportunities.
