Minister to brief Mitchells Plain anti-crime and gang stakeholder meeting

Today, Minister Albert Fritz will brief a multi-stakeholder meeting to be held in Mitchells Plain.

The meeting will discuss the increasing gang violence being observed in Mitchells Plain and surrounding areas, and will see stakeholders from the City of Cape Town, Provincial Departments, and National Government present strategies and services that can target the violence.

The meeting has been convened by Hon. Ricardo Mackenzie from the Western Cape Provincial Parliament, and will be attended by MAYCO Member, Ald. JP Smith, Mitchells Plain local councilors, Community Safety Minister Dan Plato, local SAPS leadership and the Mitchells Plain Community Policing Forum.

There will be an opportunity for interviews and photos at the end of the meeting.
