Minister Fritz will deliver a keynote address at the Substance Abuse Impact Forum, hosted jointly by the South African Medical Research Council (SAMRC) and RTI International.
The policy forum will, under the theme “In the trenches with drug-using women and couples: key populations most at-risk for HIV in Cape Town, South Africa”, present findings from two studies they recently conducted by the SAMRC and RTI International.
The studies have successfully demonstrated that HIV risk reduction through the decline in alcohol and drug use, reduced the victimisation of women, and decreased risky sexual behaviours.
There will be photograph and interview opportunities.
Date: Tuesday, 19 August 2014.
Time: 10:00. The Minister’s address is scheduled for 11:45.
