DCAS Launches New Web Map

21 October 2015

The Western Cape Department of Cultural Affairs and Sport (DCAS) is the first department of the Western Cape government to launch a brand new web map of its public facing facilities on the World Wide Web.

The web map on www.westerncape.gov.za/cas provides the locations of some of the department’s facilities, which include the Provincial Archives, Museums, MOD Centres, Libraries, Head Office and District Culture and Sports Offices/Centres to citizens, stakeholders and staff.

The best feature of the resource is that it can also be accessible through mobile devices such as tablets and smart phones to make it easier for anyone looking for a specific DCAS site to locate where the office or facility is and to get detailed information about it.

How do I access our Web Maps?

Step 1:  Open www.westerncape.gov.za/cas.

Step 2:  Click on  Our Living Atlas.

Step 3:  Tick the Facilitiy of your choice on the right hand side (under Layers).

Step 4:  Click on the map on the colour-coded pointer to find more information on the facilities.

Step 5:  Move around and zoom in and out of the map and/or use the basemaps to manipulate the display.

DCAS offers opportunities to add value to the lives of the people of the Western Cape. Citizens, stakeholders and staff can reach our facilities through easy access on our website. We connect and interact online, Better Together.
