City and Pronvince to host KhayePlain Funride

The City of Cape Town, in partnership with the Provincial Department of Transport, will host the KhayePlain Funride on Saturday to promote Non-Motorised Transport in Mitchells Plain and Khayelitsha.

Councillor Elizabeth Thompson, the City's Mayoral Committee Member for Transport, Roads and Stormwater, will officiate at the event.

Date: Saturday, 24 October

Time: 10:00 (Registration will start at 08:00 and is free)

Venue: AZ Berman Primary School, Off AZ Berman Drive (opposite the Promenade Shopping Complex) Mitchells Plain

The event will end at the Khayelitsha Cricket Oval off Walter Sisula Drive in Khayelitsha at 13:00.

All media are welcome to attend.

Members of the public are encouraged to bring their feet, their bicycles, their skateboards and wheelchairs and to picnic with friends and family.
