57 specialist substance abuse graduates to be addressed by Minister Fritz

8 March 2016

Tomorrow, Minister Albert Fritz will deliver the keynote address at the University of the Western Cape (UWC) Community Engagement Substance Abuse graduation ceremony.

The ceremony will see 57 community representatives working in the field of substance abuse, graduate from an intensive course and receive their certificates. This course is the culmination of the partnership between the Department of Social Development and the UWC after we identified that there was a lack of training programmes available in the field of drug and alcohol treatment intervention services.

The introduction of the course forms part of the Western Cape government’s comprehensive strategy to combat substance abuse in the province.

There will an opportunity for interviews and photos.

Date: 08 March 2016 (Tomorrow)

Time: 09:30 am, with Minister scheduled to speak at 10:30am.

Venue: Venue 1 A & B, School of Public Health Building, UWC.
