Western Cape Premier Alan Winde calls on residents of the Western Cape to donate new or used toys in good condition, to be distributed to children in the province.
Premier Winde said: "Our recent book drive received an amazing response and we were able to distribute over 20 000 books to schools and libraries across the province, thanks to the generosity of our residents. Now we are asking members of the public to open their hearts and their toy boxes and donate toys which we will distribute to children in need."
"We also welcome donations of baby toiletries, like baby soap, shampoo and wet wipes, as well as donations of nappies which we will distribute to organisations working with babies."
"As we head into the festive period, we want to be able to share some of that cheer with children who may not have toys to play," Premier Winde said.
Toys in good condition and educational toys for children of all ages can be dropped off at the Western Cape Government Contact Centre at 7 Wale Street.
