Don’t wait! ONE WEEK left in the 2024 admissions applications window

As of 14h30 on 5 April 2023, we had received applications for 103 796 learners for the 2024 school year.

With parents applying for more than one school for their children, the total number of individual applications to schools received thus far is 342 497.

The 2024 online application process is open until 23h59 on 14 April 2023.

This means that parents have 1 week left to get their applications in on time.

It is extremely important for parents to apply on time for the coming school year, so that we can plan more effectively for places for their children.

We need the data from our admissions system to determine where there is additional demand, so that we can provide the necessary resources and infrastructure in time for the start of the 2024 school year.

This includes valuable data on the number of learners that require placement in specific areas, their grades, and their language preferences.

The earlier we have this information, the better, which is why we appeal especially to parents of Grade 1 and 8 learners to apply before the 14 April deadline.

We are concerned that, according to our records, the parents of over 44 000 learners currently in Grade 7 have not yet submitted an application for their child for Grade 8 next year. We urge these parents to submit an application this week, and will ask their current primary school to contact them to remind them of this.

Parents who experience technical problems are able to log a query using the “contact us” option at the top of the admissions page, and we will assist parents with technical issues to resolve each and every problem as soon as possible.

Our technical team has worked long hours throughout weekends and holidays to follow up on any outstanding queries.

Parents can also visit our pop-up stalls at specific schools and malls which are hosting our officials to capture applications for parents who do not have access to the internet. A number of pop ups will be open on Saturday 8 April 2023, despite the long weekend, to assist parents.
