Western Cape Field Training Officers (FTO) e-Learning Ambassadors, GLTC Launch
Three weeks ago, Gene Louw Traffic College introduced the e-Learning platform to 13 senior traffic officials from the Department of Transport and Public Works (DTPW) and 12 senior traffic officials from our Municipal traffic centres, at Gene Louw Traffic College, Brackenfell. This iniative serves as the very first training towards the future learning methodologies in the Traffic fraternity. They were introduced to the e-Learning systems application including basic Video Conferencing technology.
The feedback from our ambassadors was extremely encouraging as well as that the functionalities on the e-Learning site are user friendly. The training sessions were facilitated in line with the new revised Western Cape Field Training Officer programme. The FTO's were also guided in terms of their roles and responsibilities linked to Skills development at centre level.
The Field Training Officers were awarded certification and acknowledgement for their participation in e-Learning and Video Conferencing at GLTC launch which was held on 10 March 2017. The launch represented a celebration of projects which the college embarked on which had reached successful completion.
We thank our FTO's for their positive contribution during the training sessions and we are confident that they will carry out their role in moving the traffic fraternity towards a more technological era. The launch only represents the start of online distance learning that the college has embarked on.
Congratulations to all the officers that attended the training session and their eagerness to learn.
