Physically Disabled Heidelberg Residents to Spend Christmas In New Homes

6 December 2016

On Tuesday, 6 December 2016 the Western Cape Minister of Human Settlements, Mr Bonginkosi Madikizela, will hand over more than 120 (one hundred and twenty houses) in Heidelberg, in the Hessequa Municipal area.

Among the beneficiaries are disabled 89-year-old, Ms Petronella Myburg and 78-year-old Mr Johannes February. Eighty year-old Mr Njengele Mtotsana will also enjoy his new home just in time for Christmas.

The houses are part of the Department of Human Settlements’ Integrated Residential Development Programme (IRDP), which provides for a mix of housing solutions including: the acquisition of land; the servicing of stands; or the construction of houses.

The allocation of these houses is in line with the Department’s objective to prioritise the elderly and most needy in housing delivery.
