Minister Madikizela

About Minister Bonginkosi Madikizela

Born: 15 March 1975

Bonginkosi Madikizela worked as communications officer and spokesperson in Cape Town Mayor's Office, Helen Zille between 2006 and 2009 before becoming a member of the Provincial Legislature. He also worked as a computer trainer. 

Before his political career, he served as an Executive member of the Khayelitsha Development Forum for five years, where he liaised with local and provincial governments on housing projects, economic development and informal settlement services.

He obtained a Bachelor of Commerce Degree in Human Resource Management as well as a certificate in Information Technology.

Madikizela served as the longest Provincial Human Settlements Minister in the country, having served from 2009 to 2019 after being reappointed by Western Cape Premier Helen Zille for a second term in 2014. He is currently the Western Cape Provincial Leader for the Democratic Alliance.
