The Western Cape Mobility Department is offering FREE ten-point checks for all vehicles from Saturday 23 to Thursday 28 March at venues in Cape Town and Drakenstein. 

Comprehensive Ten-Point Check

Our free vehicle safety tests, administered by qualified examiners, encompass a thorough ten-point inspection. This comprehensive check covers essential components such as:

  • Tyres
  • Brakes
  • Lights
  • Suspension
  • CV Joints
  • Electrical systems
  • Exhaust
  • Wipers
  • License discs
  • And more

Accessible Testing Locations

In partnership with Private Testing Centres and Local Authorities, we've made these tests easily accessible to a wide range of motorists. You can avail yourself of these free tests at various Testing Centres across the Western Cape, including:

  • Gene Louw Traffic Training College, Brackenfell Blvd, Brackenfell

    • 23rd March 2024: 08:00 - 15:00
    • 25th - 26th March 2024: 10:00 - 20:00
    • 27th March 2024: 08:00 - 15:00
  • Drakenstein Municipal Traffic Centres, c/o Jan Van Riebeek and Edison Road, Paarl

    • 23rd March 2024: 08:00 - 14:00

Additionally, our Airport Vehicle Testing Centres will also be offering free safety tests at the following locations:

  • AVTS Airport, Boston Circle, Airport Industria
  • AVTS Belville, Duminy/Voortrekker Rd, Bellville
  • AVTS CBD, 86 Sir Lowry Rd, Cape Town
  • AVTS Kenilworth, 422 Imam Haron Rd, Lansdowne
  • AVTS Strand, 3 Calvyn Str, Strand
  • AVTS Table View, 139 Blaauwberg Rd, Table View
  • AVTS Wingfield, Olympic Park, Voortrekker Rd, Goodwood

These Airport Vehicle Testing Centres will be accessible on 23rd March 2024 from 08:00 - 12:00 and from 25th to 28th March 2024, from 08:00 - 16:30.
