We mourn the loss of creative icon, Aleit Swanepoel

17 May 2022

It is with great sadness that we heard the news of the passing of one of the icons of our creative and entertainment industry – Aleit Swanepoel.

Aleit was the well-known host of the television programme “Tyd met Aleit”. Aleit was passionate about events planning and this passion also led to the establishment of the Aleit Academy, which offers students the opportunity to undergo an intensive 3-year training experience in the events industry.

Aleit collaborated with artists and companies to bring his unique touch to creative events and he made an important contribution to the arts industry through his work behind the scenes as well as on camera.

Minister Anroux Marais said: “Aleit was a shining star in the arts industry. Known for his trademark smile and incredible work ethic, he brought passion and energy to everything that he did. His academy changed the lives of many young people as they got a hands-on experience in preparation for joining the events industry.”

Our heartfelt condolences go out to Aleit’s family, friends, colleagues and all those whose lives were touched by his work. His legacy will live on through the work he leaves behind.
