15 July 2021

Tomorrow, 16 July 2020, Western Cape Minister of Human Settlements, Tertuis Simmers will facilitate the handing over of 41 title deeds to deserving recipients in the Southern Cape Town of Slangrivier.

Minister Simmers said: “Moments such as these are the ones I look forward to most, as it presents us with the opportunity to drastically change our people’s lives. I am excited to hand over these title deeds, as we’re now ensuring that through ownership, our people are fully empowered.

This is critical, as it gives our people a sense of security, dignity and pride in having full ownership of their properties. As the Western Cape Government, we remain committed to improving the lives of our residents.”

It should be noted and in keeping with all Covid-19 regulations, Minister Simmers and a small delegation, consisting of the Hessequa Executive Mayor and the local Ward Councillor will visit each residence to individually hand over the title deeds.

There will be an opportunity for interviews and photographs.

Members of the media are advised of the meeting point below. From here we’ll proceed to the houses of the beneficiaries, to individually handover their title deeds.
