Reseal of R27 (24 km) and M19 (9 km) near Melkbosstrand

29 July 2016

Notice of postponement of roadworks

The works currently taking place on the R27 and M19 will be temporarily suspended during August 2016 to comply with contract stipulations regarding seal during the winter months.

Contract stipulations enforce an embargo on all seal work from mid-May to mid-September due to low temperatures and unfavourable weather conditions generally experienced through this period.

All seal work on the contract ceased in mid-May 2016 but appurtenant works continued and were completed by end July 2016.

The contractor will commence with the remaining seal work in mid-September and be completed by the end of November.

Temporary traffic signs have been erected along the route where there are steps in the road surface. Motorists are urged to exercise caution when travelling through these sections.

For assistance during this period please call 071 536 2077.
