Mitchells Plain Entrepreneurs to Exhibit Services as City Hosts 'The Plain Biz Expo'

The City of Cape Town in partnership with the Mitchells Plain Development Forum will host The Plain Bizz Expo at Westgate Shopping Mall.

The expo is targeted at both existing small businesses and aspiring entrepreneurs from Mitchells Plain. Small business owners have been invited to exhibit their services and goods e.g. arts and crafts, furniture manufacturers and cut, make and trim of clothing to mention but a few.

The exhibition will be launched on Wednesday, 29 June 2005 at 17:30. Alderman Clifford Sitonga, Mayoral Committee Member for Economic Social Development and Tourism will officiate.

The Expo is one of the outcomes of the Mitchells Plain Economic, Investment and Job Creation Summit held in October 2004.

The Expo starts at 12:00 on Wednesday, 29 June 2005 and ends at 15:00 on Sunday, 03 July 2005 at the Westgate Shopping Mall, cnr Vanguard Drive and Morgenster Roads in Mitchells Plain.

Times for the Expo:

29 June 2005 to 01 July 2005 - 12:00 to 22:00
02 July 2005 - 09:00 to 21:00
03 July 2005 - 10:00 to 15:00

Besides the 150 exhibition stalls, approximately 30 service providers will be exhibiting their services and will assist potential entrepreneurs and businesses e.g. the Provincial Government's RED DOOR, Tradeworld, Library Business Corners, Department of Labour and the Department of Trade and Industry.

Service providers will participate in information sessions on 29 June 2005 and 30 June 2005 from 18:00 to 21:00.
