Minister Plato to handover Safety Kiosks in Manenberg and Hanover Park

Today, Monday 13 June 2016, Western Cape Minister of Community Safety, Dan Plato, will officially hand over two Safety Kiosks to the City of Cape Town to be deployed in Manenberg and Hanover Park.

The Safety Kiosk will be utilized for crime prevention by increasing visibility in hotspot areas and through daily operations and blitzes in partnership with the City of Cape Town’s Law Enforcement.

The handover of the kiosks in Mitchells Plain today forms part of the delivery of the Safety Kiosks under the new Safety Partnerships which will see the roll out of 40 Safety Kiosks by the Department of Community Safety and relevant safety stakeholders and will enable communities to play an active role in identifying and resolving safety concerns that exist within their neighbourhoods.

There will be an opportunity for photographs and interviews.
