Minister Madikizela To Visit Lotus River Informal Settlements

Today, Tuesday 22 May 2018, Human Settlements Minister, Bonginkosi Madikizela will visit informal settlements in Lotus River to see for himself the conditions of people living in these settlements.

The purpose of the visit is to proactively find possible solutions for the people living in these areas.

Lotus River has 16 informal settlements, some of which are 30 years old. They include areas such as Sandvlei, Nooitgedacht, Wit Blokke and Egoli.

Following the visit, Minister Madikizela plans to investigate the feasibility of buying the privately-owned land to develop it for human settlements.
