Minister Madikizela to hand over houses in Oudtshoorn and Bitou

23 October 2018

Today, Tuesday 23 October 2018, Western Cape Human Settlements Minister, Bonginkosi Madikizela, will hand over more than 300 houses in Oudtshoorn and visit a construction site in Bitou.

In Oudtshoorn, the Rosevalley Phase 3 Housing Project is worth R4.4 million and commenced in July 2018. Over 300 residents living in Oudtshoorn’s informal areas will benefit from this housing development.

In KwaNokuthula, Bitou, Minister Madikizela will visit a construction site where a housing development worth R75million is currently underway. The KwaNokuthula Housing project will yield more than 445 units for residents of the Bitou municipal area. Construction of these structures is expected to be completed next year.

Tomorrow’s handover and site visit form part of the Department’s strategic goals to prioritise the most vulnerable residents, such as the elderly, for government housing opportunities.
