Minister Anroux Marais to launch National Archives Week on 6 June

On Monday, 6 June 2022 Minister Anroux Marais will officially launch the Archives Awareness Week events at the Western Cape Archives in Cape Town.

National Archives Awareness Week is an annual event that promotes and celebrates the work being done by archives services across the country. The Western Cape Archives and Records Service is proud of the continuous work being done to preserve and restore records and to make these records accessible to the public.

The week will offer various workshops at the Archives, including the popular Family History Workshop on 9 June 2022. Members of the public can use the opportunity to visit the archives and find out more about the services offered.

All media are invited to attend the launch event. Opportunities for media interviews and photos will be available.
