Media Alert: Premier Zille to Attend Official Opening of Tellumat Manufacturing

This morning, Tuesday 12 March, Premier Helen Zille will attend and speak at the official opening of the Tellumat manufacturing facility in Atlantis. The Tellumat factory was modernised in 2012 with new production equipment and produces electronics for such well-known brands as SONY, Mecer and HiSense.

The capital outlay for the new facility represents significant investment in the manufacturing sector and is a major boost for the development of Atlantis. The factory is an illustrative example of co-operation between the government and business partners to attract private sector investment through an enabling environment and industry-supporting incentives.

Trade & Industry Minister, Dr Rob Davies, and Chief Executive Officer of Wesgro (the Western Cape destination marketing, investment and trade promotion agency), Mr Nils Flaatten, will also deliver addresses. Minister Davies and Premier Zille will jointly do a ribbon-cutting and plaque unveiling ceremony followed by a factory tour.
