Media Alert: Minister Debbie Schafer to attend "Maths Solutions" Conference

Today, Minister Debbie Schafer will attend the ‘Maths Solutions’ Conference presented by the Cape Teaching Leadership Institute. 

The improvement of mathematics is one of our primary objectives and therefore the WCED have a number of teacher development programmes on offer to help improve the development of teaching in this subject.

Ever since the establishment of the Cape Teaching And Leadership Institute (CTLI), teachers who have attended CTLI training courses would indicate a need to come together and share with colleagues what works best in their classrooms. It was out of this need that the CTLI embarked on coordinating Provincial Mathematics Solutions Conferences for GET teachers.

These two-day conferences are conducted on an annual basis during school holidays.

On Monday, Minister Schafer will attend the Parallel Session 2 at 12:30 and will address the teachers during their lunch break.
