Media Alert: MEC to Visit Safe Schools Holiday Programme

Western Cape Education Minister Donald Grant will be visiting the Uitsig Sports Complex where he will be delivering a message of support to high school learners from the Uitsig community and the organisers of the Western Cape Education Department's (WCED's) Safe Schools Holiday Programme.

Tomorrow's activities include a Mini World Cup Soccer and Netball Tournament organised by the WCED's Safe Schools programme, South African Police Service (SAPS) and the Ravensmead Community Policing Forum.

The Uitsig Sports Complex is one of 64 centres throughout the province where programmes, such as this, are being offered by the WCED to keep learners safe and active during the holiday period.

The programmes offer cultural activities and sport, along with developmental courses such as conflict resolution and drug awareness.
