Masiphumelele School Project

23 March 2004
The community of Masiphumelele were thrilled to hear that their children will soon receive extra educational facilities to alleviate the tremendous shortage of learning space at the Ukhanyo primary school. An agreement for the delivery of 6 mobile classrooms at the Ukhanyo primary school and an initiative to kick start a process for a new building for Masiphumulele Secondary School was signed by senior officials of the provincial government and community leaders. According to Richard Petersen, Head of Public Works in the Western Cape, the province shares in the community's plight and will do everything in their power to deliver the goods. "We are currently celebrating 10 years of democracy and this project will form part of our IKAPA ELHIHLUMYO initiative".
