An integrated approach to road safety this festive season

4 December 2018

Provincial Traffic Services of the Department of Transport and Public Works (DTPW) and other road safety agencies in the Western Cape are about to launch integrated traffic law enforcement plans for the festive season. The first launch will take place at Gene Louw Traffic College on 6 December 2018, followed by a number of regional launch events.

Provincial Traffic Services will continue to work closely with the police, municipal traffic services and other road safety agencies this holiday season to make our roads safer for residents and visitors. The plans include ongoing random breath testing (RBT) and alcohol blitz operations with the aim of strengthening our #BoozeFreeRoads efforts on provincial roads. We hope that our collective efforts will make all road users safer.

Representatives of the media are invited to attend these events.
