First Thursdays with the Western Cape Government are back

3 March 2022

Media release by Premier Alan Winde on return of in-person Western Cape Government First Thursdays

03 March 2022

Premier Alan Winde and the Provincial Cabinet are looking forward to meeting with residents in person as Western Cape Government First Thursdays return to 7 Wale Street

I am very pleased to announce that First Thursdays with the Western Cape Government are returning to the Concourse of the Provincial Government building today, and we, as your Provincial Cabinet, are looking forward to listening to you.

Residents, business owners and visitors will also once again have the opportunity to meet with me and members of my Cabinet, and key officials, in person, to raise any concerns and/or pitch their ideas. Each person will be able to engage with us in 5 minute face-to-face meetings.

These engagements are important to give life to the commitment I made during my State of the Province Address that we will be a government that speaks less and listens more.

That is why going forward, we will also make it a permanent feature for our Cabinet and our senior management team to spend less time deliberating among ourselves and instead engage directly with those we serve.

The details of the First Thursday engagement are as follows:

Date: Today, 3 March 2022

Time: From 5 pm

Venue: Concourse level, 7 Wale Street, Cape Town.

Measures will be in place to ensure that health and safety protocols related to COVID-19 are adhered to.

Members of the media and the public are invited to attend.
