We will work together with the department and ensure that we build the new hope in the region as set out by the Minister”.

In giving a recap on the engagement Minister Simmers said: “This visit forms part of the roadshow in which we have set out to visit all district municipalities. We need to have these sessions as they provide local government with the opportunity to provide input and to further understand the vision of the department. A key objective of my department is to build impactful partnerships with local government and the private sector and to build hope in the Western Cape for all our citizens."

Similar visits and sessions are set to follow in the remaining district municipalities over the next period.
