Madikizela To Hand Over Free Houses In Kingston Town, Paarl, Western Cape

On 29 November 2016, Western Cape Human Settlements Minister Bonginkosi Madikizela along with Drakenstein Mayor Conrad Poole will hand over two houses at the Kingston Town development in Drakenstein in the Western Cape.

When complete, the project will deliver 122 units at a cost of R13.8 million.  29 houses have already been delivered to beneficiaries who are members of households earning less than R3500 per month.

The beneficiaries receiving houses reflect the Department’s focus on prioritizing those over 40 years of age in housing allocations.

 The project is being developed through the Upgrading of Informal Settlements Programme (UISP). Beneficiaries have been relocated from informal structures and have access to to municipal services, clean drinking water and electricity, refuse removal services, job opportunities and taxi ranks.
