Online Licence Renewal

17 November 2015

You are likely to face long queues at motor licence offices around the Western Cape because of the new verification regulation which came into effect on 1 November 2015.  The long queues are also due to Enatis’ transition period.

The Milnerton Traffic Department in particular is serving a huge area and the City of Cape Town is looking at other premises in the Parklands area to alleviate pressure and extend better service to the community.

Kindly be advised that you can also renew your licence on the City of Cape Town’s website:

  1. Go to e-services.
  2. Under the Motor Vehicle Licensing tab, click on ‘register’ (for new applicants) or ‘login’ (for those already registered for e-Services).
  3. You will be prompted to complete an online registration form and will be required to upload the necessary documents.

The application process takes three working days for new applicants and two working days for applicants who are already registered.

You can call the City of Cape Town's call centre on 0860 103 089 to find out the amount owing should you not know the licence amount due.
