New houses, title deeds, solar geyser panels, and a public meeting as Minister Simmers visits the Garden Route district.
This evening the provincial Minister of Infrastructure, Tertuis Simmers, will attend a public meeting and engage the community of Sedgefield. Minister Simmers will be joined by the Executive Mayor of Knysna Aubrey Tsengwa.
At the meeting, the Minister and the department will provide the community with an update on branch human settlements’ project plans for Sedgefield.
On Wednesday morning, 29 November 2023, Minister Simmers will hand over the first set of houses at the Ebenheazer housing project, three months to the day when he and the Premier conducted the project’s sod turning. The project is earmarked to create a total of 1642 housing opportunities on completion, which will be delivered over a multi-phased implementation process.
Other engagements on the day will see the Minister handover title deeds and solar geysers at the Metro Ground housing project in George. The Garden Route visit will conclude with a title deed handover ceremony in Dysselsdorp, Oudtshoorn.
