Minister Simmers takes Youth Services Recruitment Drive to Mitchells Plain

On Monday 19th June, the Western Cape Provincial Minister of Infrastructure Tertuis Simmers will host a Youth Recruitment Open Day in Mitchells Plain. On the day attendees will be treated to presentations from the Western Cape Department of Infrastructure’s empowerment programmes. The event is targeted at students looking to further their studies in the fields of transport, engineering, and infrastructure. Applications for the Masakh’iSizwe Bursary programme remains open.
 
Making a call to the youth Minister Simmers said: “I encourage all youth in Mitchells Plain and surrounding areas to come through and take advantage of this opportunity. This initiative is aimed at addressing youth unemployment, and the shortage of Small Medium, and Micro Enterprise (SMME) opportunities. This includes providing opportunities to gain access to higher education and learning institutions’ programmes.”
